I added a note to the first post: block heater is listed as an "accessory" for the 2017 model year, unlike earlier years where it was standard equipment.

Yeah, that would be the best of both worlds: block heater & battery warmer.

I've heard that one too: that a block heater will somehow "spoil" the car, and then it won't start unless you ALWAYS plug it in.
