Really?? Is that in the service manual? I only have the owners manual.
Here is the screen shot! scary! i see no reason for this...I don't believe i've change brake fluid in my driving career or time repairing and working on cars with my dad in the good old days!
Attachment 1099
It's also the hydraulic clutch fluid; I'm past 40,000km and haven't touched mine yet.
Both are closed systems. You should not need to change the fluid. Unless you disconnected the brakes for some reason, it should be every 60,000km. Just like transmission fluid.
interesting...I'm looking through the schedule and i don't see anything in the vehicle being replaced, out side of, oil, filter, brake-fluid, and an air filter...
not even sparkplugs up to 200KM.
interesting is the same interval of replace brake fluid is (inspect manual transmission oil).
I'm wondering if this is not changed, and you have an issue with the tranny in warranty, can/will the reject claim based on not being changed as mandated in the manual.
My own experience:
1) Brake fluid will last the lifetime of the car as long as long it does not become contaminated somehow.
2) Clutch fluid: Ditto.
My last vehicle I sold at 403,000 KM's..it's still running with the same brake/clutch fluid it came off the line with.
i agree with that...i've just never seen an interval that frequent in the manual, which caused a red flag for warranty work down the road?
I think it may be a typo in the manual, because it's very likely that it should say "Inspect" instead of "Change". Could this be a translation fail? I believe very strongly that it could be. Can some Non-Canadian micra owners check their owner's manuals???
at least in my owner manual, i believ eit says inspect...
