yep.
i still get shocked anytime used car buyers do not see a pre-purchase mech inspection + car proof as a baseline requirement for all purchases (unless they're in the market for deliberate junkies, priced below $2000 or whatnot)
EDIT: however, when it comes to my comment on rentals, the thing is that rentals get abused. not if, but is.
and by 'abuse' , we're not just talking accidents or negligent maintenance. we're also talking beating up on your seats, leaving questionable liquids in the floor mats, violently mashing the buttons or screens , really slamming your car doors....basically things that carproof would have no way of knowing it had happened, and a mechanic generally not discovering it, either (because it's not necessarily an issue of the car's mechanic, but rather its interior)
Not sure about "negligent maintenance" with rentals. I worked for a family-owned rental franchise (a long time ago), and they did maintenenance by the book.
One reason is they have to protect the warranty.

$3995
No pic, but here's an ad for a base S manual 2015 Micra with over 200k kms at a dealership near Montreal:
That's the lowest price I've seen so far for a non-written off car. I assume it's an ex-courier car or long-distance commuter.Quote:
Year: 2015
Trim: S+ MANUELLE S+ STANDARD TRANSMISSION
Kilometers: 212,954

The above ad was wrong: it's an S with auto & air.
And they lowered the price to $3495. Looks a little rough around the edges... :D

Funny seeing the earlier posts in the thread talking about how 20k for a 10k car is bad.
My 2018 SV cost me about that factoring in taxes and the piece of mind options. These things are really only 10k when you get the S.
Yup. $10k was just meant to get people in the dealership door. Only about 8% of sales were of the base S model, despite all the media attention and marketing of $9998.
Although, a whopping 30% of our forum members chose one!
Remember: "Nobody in their right mind buys a base Micra"
