Ah that is interesting, I did not know that. Weird that all the cars I looked at did not include ''freight'' in their advertised price.

Yeah, not everybody follows the rule. I read somewhere that some wrists were slapped in Ontario over this issue when the Micra was launched and Mitsu responded with its "$9998" special. A lot of people were advertising "9998".
I'm sure they'll take you up on that. AND! You can use the warm temperatures of the show hall to apply your new MARCH badging. :D

Competitors update:
-- The "$9400" Accent doesn't appear to be the reason for Micra's decline: 669 sold last month, vs 1399 in Dec. They did sell more Elantras though (3083 vs 2641 in Dec), and both models had huge Micra-fighting discounts on them.
-- GM had an impressive showing with the Spark, with sales up 196% compared to last month! That's right, they sold 80 instead of 27. :D Someone's getting a promotion!
-- Something like ~235 Mirages (Mitsu didn't break out the exact number, but it's around that many).
fascinating stuff
thx for the update, metro
February sales numbers come out tomorrow. Man, I'm a nerd for the stats. :)
Here we go: 758 Micras sold last month.
That makes it Nissan's 2nd best selling car model, after the Sentra. It outsold all Nissan's trucks as well, except for the Rogue.
Versa Note: 622 sold, -14.3% from last Feb, and currently -17.4% year to date vs. last year at this time.
Overall though, it was a great month for Nissan: best February ever.

No stats out for the competitors yet... with Hyundai's fire sale pricing ending yesterday, I'll be curious to see their numbers too. Thread: Hyundai joins the fight: $9400 base Accent deal
OK, competitors' numbers are in: Mitsu & GM both declined Jan-Feb, vs. Micra's increase.
But Hyundai Accent sales were way up Jan-Feb: 669 to 934. Probably due to their big sale that made the base Accent cheaper than the base Micra.
Nice! 1013 Micras sold in March. That's the second best month after July last year.

woot! this shows that Canadians appreciate smaller, econmic cars :)
hopefully we continue to see this trend. Something to counter those huge pickups we all see!
