Not enough chrome for me
Not really too much, though I'm thinking of painting them black using plastidip.
I don't like the chrome badge on the steering wheel. When the sun is low and coming in from the side it sets up a strong dazzle that I can do without. Last fall I put some auto wax on the chrome and the thick haze killed the glare but it eventually wore off. I think I will try some 0000 steel wool to remove the chrome.
Ajijic : That would be a lot easier to do and the black tape would be removable at trade in time.
I don't like how the fog lights look in chrome to tacky for me..
I used quite a bit of plastic dip. Really guys just go get a can and try it out. If you screw it up let it set for bit and peel it off and try again. Good to have a microfiber towel to wipe off overspray. Remember to put the can in a bit of warm water...shake well, and have a piece of newspaper to test spray to make sure nozzle not plugged before you start.
Does it adhere to chrome the same it does plastic?
This link below shows my car page with all the badges (including front bits) blacked out with plasti dip.

The finished black stripe on my hood is also plasti dip. I tried a few stripes on the sides but it just looked bad...so...peeled it off no problem. I dont know yet but i suspect when i redo the stripe that the paint underneath the plastic will likely be different from the rest of the hood...but knew that might happen before i put the strip on it. As for chrome bits, 5 light coats 15 minutes apart...been a year nothing peeled or fall off yet.
Here is the tutorial i watched before trying
