Cusco Anti-Roll Bars Installed

Last year in November Cusco Japan decided to do a few catalogue updates for the March K13 Nismo S trim, this included a various assortment of upgrade suspension braces and parts.

One of the the biggest negatives with me with the Micra was the ride height and to my opinion the sluggish body roll, a big no no for me.

Earlier this year I was able to source a set of Cusco upgrade Anti-roll bars spec'd for the Nismo S March in Japan, to my knowledge Cusco even warned me about fitment issues as they weren't sure if the suspension design was the same from the base model to the Nismo model.

The front upgrade replaces the stock 18mm diameter bar with a 22mm and the rear 15mm diameter additional bar bolts on the rear torsion beam spring cups, there is already OEM holes present on the torsion beam which is the same as the Nismo version.

At the beginning of the summer I installed the set and since then the car handles like another model, nothing like the base setup. I was fortunate enough to receive both rear and front bars at a competitive price since Cusco couldn't guarantee fitment. Here's a few pictures showcasing the details of the front sub-frame and comparison of the stock vs Cusco bar.

The front set included thicker bushing brackets (sheet metal gauge down) and spacer with rubber bushings included.
The rear set included mounting hardware (bolts & lock nuts)

Highly recommended upgrade item. Side note, the original sway bar is actually the same bar used on the Nismo S model, the part #'s cross reference.

Awesome!! Love Cusco stuff, I had a bunch of their parts on my previous WRX.

The one annoying thing about the Micra is having to always play the guessing game when ordering aftermarket parts wondering if there will be fitment issues given the different setups across various markets.

I think the guessing game applies to many models and brands not limited to the Micra.

I would agree with you, except I suppose there's more choice with other models that are sold in the United States as well creating a more robust aftermarket. Also the Micra seems to have a lot more configurations in various markets than, say my former WRX, where I found most of the JDM parts to be compatible.

Agreed, the K13 lacks a bit of engine performance upgrades. I wish Rotrex made a supercharger kit like they do for the Honda Fit/Jazz. Besides that, all suspension upgrades are quite easy to get from Japan, basically convert the entire car to Nismo S spec.

Yeah, to remove the front bar you need access to a lift and a transmission jack (holds the sub-frame), you'll need to remove the entire front sub-frame to access the anti-roll bar brackets. It's fun did it myself with the help of a buddy.

Nice to have access to a lift!

I just went to a do-it yourself Garage, pay an hourly fee to use the lift.

^^ wish we had something like that in B.C.!

That's the same bar I had installed in my Micra. I'm form Mexico and down here only the SR model comes with irony antiroll bars. I am making the rear sway bar as well as the upper rear strut bar (we already made the front strut bar with a 25mm rod or pipe with 4mm thickness, super stiff).

Can you notice the difference with that rear sway bar?

Hmm I found them be a bit overpriced for the quality. I made my own out of steel and they’re super rigid, plus I only spent about 50 dollars worth and I have about materials to make the lower front and rear suspension braces, and and front and rear strut bars. But I have seen the bars you mentioned in Mercado libre.
I guess they are better than nothing, although, like I said, a bit overpriced in my opinion.

I have 2 in the front and 1 in the rear, made a definite difference in the handling of the car.
