I think one of my struts are bent in so to prove this I need a couple of measurements
it's pouring here so I'll grab mine for you in the morning
I went to measure another Micra (2017 with a P series engine) and I didn't realise part of the engines air box was going to be in the way.
For mine, the centre line dimension from one strut mounting hole to the other is 44.25" - If you have a set or dimensions you'd like beyond that though... take pictures of "from:to" and I'll do what I can
If you need a strut I have a set I can send out. Only have 20k on them or less. Let me know. I will see if I can grab some measurements also
what makes you think you have a "stiff strut" ????
When rocking the car side to side, the driver side floats around up and down while the passenger side stays in a fixed position.
If the strut is in the up position the car is 1 inch higher on that one side and throwing 160 pounds on the car does not make that side come down.
If the strut is in the normal position, one could lift the car up with fender and it would stay in that position untill a big bump in the road throws it down.
If reversing fast enough into a parking spot, braking cuases the front end to lift up making the strut extend in the up position making 1 inch gap and it wont come back down till I hit a bump hard enough
its a stiff something.....i would think it would go all floppy if it failed, i would guess its bent somehow, a distant possibility is its the lower control arm thats stiff?....weird.
