Too bad the digital odometer doesn't show 10ths like the old ones, or you could have done 71717.1 :D

Five little hockey sticks.
That's fretalian's request in the scavenger hunt thread.
8k km or 6 months, whichever first.
(oil loses its chemical properties as the months go by)

7 months...not a high mileage vehicle
I actually booked an appointment at the dealership and was told to come back when I was closer to 8000km. They said conditioning additives are added at the factory to aid engine break-in.
Maybe bull****, but when does a dealership turn down free money I was willing to pay to change the oil?
maybe. first time i hear of such thing.
personally, i trust my car manual far more than ill ever trust the average dealer.
secondly, id rather do my maintenance with an independent local shop, than the dealer.
In the manual it does say 2,000km break-in.
And the dealer does say special additives. But they use mobile 1.
When my engine was replaced there were no special oils used. So that's probably bull.
They might be referring to engine assembly oil. Which is just oil used while putting the engine together so it's not dry.
