I have my doubts... The rear door handle is different from the spy shots...

I like it.
I bet we won't be seeing the new model for a while after you get it.
There will be 2 Micras in 2017, the new euro spec and the current K13.
Aha. Classic Nissan tactic. Sell the cheaper old one alongside the new model for a couple of years.
Or decades!

Im a bit reluctant on the design. Im still seeing renault clio through this thing.
But Metro is right- It isnt uncommon for nissan to have 2 lines going at the same time. Its like they push it to one market and if it takes, they bring it to the other market. Which is kinda smart if you think about it. If it flops, its not going to take much down with it.
My thoughts:
Considering how much money they spent to fit the plant in mexico to produce the micra, k13 micra production will continue in North america, japan and india (asian/middle east) and Austrailia [pretty sure they get micra's made in india tho]. These plants also produce similar vehicles from the same lines like the versa(tiida) and sentra, so it makes sense to me to have them do a good long run on a proven platform until they break even and start making great profit.
But that being said- the sentra is due for its face lift in 2017 MY along with the versa.. So it would also make sense to redesign the micra as well for the north american market as it is produced alongside of the versa and sentra, that way they only have to retool the plant once.
We will have to wait and see!
How long did VW produce the "City" Golf along the newer one here in North America?
Well that looks better then thought. Its not personally to my taste. I like the micra because its a little cute, with just a smidgen of aggressive styling.
This is very strongly styled. It might not speak to everyone. But conversely, it might speak volumes to those that don't like the current micra's more conservative style.
Are they going to stick with the 1.6, or are there going to be more interesting engine options?
Good question. I wouldnt be surprised if we see the MR and CVT in this thing.
Look like a juke????
For Europe I expect only 3-cylinder engines like we have in the K13 now. Perhaps they will also use the 1.2 turbo for a sportier version, those engines are already being used in the Juke, Pulsar and even the Qashqai.
Hmm I'm still not sure? It's growing on me though. It does look quite big? Is that not a bad idea as the note fits that gap and is imo better looking.
The size will be a little bigger than the current Micra I guess. But nowhere near the Note.
In Europe the Pixo is no longer available, so the Micra is the smallest Nissan.
(Nissan Pixo was a rebadged Suzuki Alto btw)

Rear end and general body shape reminds me of a lower-profile Toyotal Matrix for some reason...it will be interesting to see what the Canadian specs for this car will be...
New digital rendering.

Looks pretty good to me. I like the wheels too. One thing I prefer from the previous rendering was the lack of chrome around the windows. Not a big chrome lover here.
It must be time for a European Nismo Micra! Stick a tuned MR16DDT from the Juke in it and let it wipe the floor with fiesta ST's and Clio sports! Come on Nissan! They would sell like hot cakes!
Agreed - that sounds very fun.
I really don't think that the "micra next gen"...
There a review on Youtube of exactly or "almost" the same looking as showing right here on the thread... and It named the Nissan tiida.
Look it up on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-2oZ7sz3Oc
It shows similarities with the Nissan Tiida, the Tiida isn't available in Europe, so I never noticed this.

There are also similarities with the new Nissan Maxima, as far as the design goes.

The "official" unveiling of the production version of the K14 Micra/March for the European market will be in a couple of weeks:
http://indianautosblog.com/2016/09/2...or-show-242485Quote:
the next-generation Nissan Micra will make its world debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show that opens its doors on September 29. Note that the Micra to be unveiled will be the Euro-spec model
2 different platforms
Noteworthy: the K13 European Micra is currently made in India. But The K14 will be built in a different location based on a new platform shared by Renault-Nissan. The Indian Micra (and likely some other countries) will be refreshed but will remain on the current "V" platform.
Still no idea what Canada is going to get. But I bet it's not the new one. Not for next year. I bet we'll carry on with the existing K13 for the 2017 model year.
This looks like the Renault version of what I believe will be the next Micra. Looking at side panels I think this is it. Slap a Nissan logo on the front.

Interesting to read the comments about the redesign from the peanut gallery on this UK-based site:
