I suspect your experience is.with the 1.2L triple? In Canada, the only engine offered was the 1.6L 4-cyl (109 HP). Fuel economy is worse than many comparable small cars across the pond that have...
I subscribe to Kijiji alerts for Micras under $4500, and I've hardly seen any in the past 6 or 8 months.
I like to post them in Kijiji & Craiglist: cheap used Micras for sale
The last cheap one...
Woohoo!! Congrats all around.
Of course, actual consumption is likely a bit higher. The display in the last Micra I tested was about 8% optimistic vs. doing the math at the gas station (actual...
Nice review!
With so little driving of your personal car, what was your last one & how many km on it when you got rid of it?
How long do you figure you'll keep Lola?
Translating!
7.1 L/100 km
9.4
A lot depends on how/where it's driven.
Believe it or not, the Micra uses the Atkinson cycle! *
* (But only at idle. :D )
Thread: Continuously variable valve timing (CVTC) on Micra 1.6L...
90% highway is about the best-case argument for the automatic. It'll be pretty interesting to see how close you get to the manual.
I don't know how much of a nerd you are for the numbers, but I'd...
Ha - welcome back to Micra land. :D
I would have advised getting the manual even though its top gear is more revvy than the slushbox.
In real world driving, the manual gets better fuel economy...
But check out the kms!
6101
Base, 5-speed, as-is 2015 model
WITH almost 400k kms! That's a new record.
"JUST TRADED IN. LOOKS AND DRIVES GREAT."
Oh no! Sorry to see you leaving.
On the other hand, some buyer is going to get themselves a very tastefully modded, ultra-low kilometers Micra. Send the buyer here!
What's replacing it?
Marc - what did you decide?
I would say "Tok, Tok, tok" is not normal. I think Vaszya is right to point to the bearing issues some early Micras had.
The only unusual noise an otherwise...
"81 Honda Civic 1500" - hey, I had an '84, first year of the "bread van" style. I LOVED that car!
Got it for $265 because it had a very slightly leaking head gasket, which I neglected to...
I also recently saw a cache of base S 2019 Micras for sale at a dealership in Alberta. Not discounted AT ALL. In fact, they seemed to be priced a bit higher than MSRP. Very odd.
We heard about some engine problems from manufacturing defects around 2014/2015, but not much since then.
I'm sure there are lots of commuter & delivery Micras with over 200k on them. We know of...
Haha! The way some things are priced during these crazy times, you might just get it.

Found some new 2019's...

Well, it looks like the party's over... Nissan's 1st quarter 2021 sales report shows zero Micras sold in Jan-Feb-Mar.

Everything I've read about the Spark vs Micra boils down to: the Micra is more entertaining and roomy; the Spark is more refined to drive and has more features.
Did you know the Spark...
There's something to be said for the tried & true conventional automatics like the Micra's.
The Mirage uses a JATCO CVT -- same as the Versa Note and the Chevy Spark -- and it's not hard to find...
Agreed - I love it when we find out how the story ends.
Most regular members come back and report.
In my experience on forums, it's usually the new folks who sign up specifically to report or...
Glad to hear the company is going to look after you & thanks for documenting this in such detail. Hopefully it was a one-off manufacturing defect, but it may come in handy for other Micra owners.
Glad it's resolved!
The "poor quality gas" line is BS. The fuel gauge itself doesn't care if you pour gasoline or beer in the tank! It's just a fluid level sensor.
I bet this means another 4 or 5 years of production at least.
Jalopnik also wrote a brief article about it:
Nissan Has Been Selling The Same Hatchback In Mexico For 11 Years
Sounds like a big project. Thanks for sharing for future DIYers.
